Leonard "Bo" Haynes, Jr., was born December 22, 1944 in Five Points, Alabama, one of seven children, to the late Leonard Sr. and Sarah Haynes.
He attended the public-school system in Chambers County and after graduating high school he relocated to Dayton, Ohio. He was a hard worker and spent many years working at Fussnecker Sweeper Sales & Services. Also, in his spare time he enjoyed laying concrete and paving blacktops for many years. He professed Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of Mount Calvary Church in Dayton, Ohio.
He lit up a room with his fun personality and was oftened called the Jokester. He loved telling jokes and always had the entire room laughing. He took great pride in spending time with his grandchildren always laughing as he gave them all creative nicknames such as "black boy and white boy". He enjoyed cooking up his favorite dishes and his signature "Pig feet and Chitterlings" with hot sauce. Those who loved him will cherish his favorite saying "God Loves You and so do I and there is nothing that you can do about it". His hobbies were fishing, playing dominos and checkers with pop bottle tops.
He is preceded in death by six siblings; Corrie Watts (the mother of his children), and to this union was blessed with three children.
Leonard is survived by LaVone Haynes (the mother of his children), and to this union was blessed with four children. He leaves to celebrate and cherish his memories: sisters, Lamerle, BettyJean and May; brothers, Robert, Lewis, and John (Betsy); children, Wendy (Glenn), Derrick, Theresa, Leonard III, Farah, Evan, Noelle; a host of loving and caring grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear loving friends.
Homegoing celebration to honor his life will be held 12 noon Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God, 1350 Kumler Ave. Elder Dr. Henry Gross officiating. Visitation 10 am at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
