MARTIN, Lee Edward, age 76, born July 22, 1942 in Silver Run, Alabama, was called home August 3, 2018. The family moved to Dayton when he was nine years old. He attended Irving Elementary and Roosevelt High School. Later in his junior year, he attended Roth High School where he ran track and was one of Roth’s first “All City” athletes. After graduating in 1961, Lee moved to Detroit, Michigan to begin a new life. He worked as an Aide for Handicapped Children and retired from the Ford Motor Company. After retiring he moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida and returned to Dayton in 2016 where he was taken care of by his family during his illness. Preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Martha Martin. He is survived by his life long companion, Lynette Nappier; sisters, Cora (Edward) Rhodes, Geraldine Aubrey and Marsha Martin; brother, David (Denise) Martin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
