Larry Cooley Obituary

Larry Cooley “Cooley”, loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend, born March 15, 1946 in Gadsden, AL, received his wings Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 3:05 pm at Grandview Hospital.

Cooley confessed his life to Christ and was baptized at an early age at Flint Ridge Baptist in Bowdon, GA. He first retired from NCR in August 2000 after 22 years of service, and second retirement from Duron Factory 2015 after 15 years. Cooley was the life of all our gatherings, he loved to make jokes and make us laugh, laugh and laugh. We have a lot of laughing memories. Cooley had made peace with God before he received his wings so we know we will see you again.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Cooley, and son, Anthony Broady.

Cooley leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Fannie Cooley-Sullivan; sons, Lawrence and Lamont Broady; sisters, Wilma Jean Thornton and Willa Mae Cooley; brothers, Eddie Cooley, James Cooley, Freddie (Charlene) Cooley, and Timothy Cooley; special forever friends, Joe Lewis, Steve Abernathy, Pat Copley, Geneva Sample, and the mother of his children, Marshall Broady; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, December 27, 2019 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Robert Thornton officiating. Visitation 9 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
