Julius Lee Watkins

WATKINS, Julius Lee, age 83, born February 2, 1935 in Jackson, AL, passed away May 14, 2018. Julius came to Dayton as a young man in 1955 to live with his loving uncle and aunt, the late Major and Pinklee Pugh. He retired from General Motors after 32 ½ years of service. He was a member of Macedonia M. B. Church for 47 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Bo and Tisha Watkins; sister, Katie Mary Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Maggie Shackelford; uncle, Robert Carter; cousin, Jerry Pugh (Betty); a host of family and friends. Funeral service 1 pm Friday, May 18, 2018 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Min. Raleigh Thornton Jr. officiating. Visitation 10 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
