Joyce E. Harris

HARRIS, Joyce E., 78, born July 18, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio, died unexpectedly Sunday, August 5, 2017. Joyce was a retired Post Mistress of the Xenia, Ohio Post Office with 30 + years of service with the U.S. Postal Service. Preceded in death by her mother, Louella Rice, father, DeEarnest Rice; sister, Constance Gober (Joe); longtime companion, Fred Glover. She is survived by her children, Bip (Conswela), DeEarnest (Christina) and Jerome (Cynthia) McLemore, DaWonna Carriker (Jerry), Shawn McLemore, LaDonna Turpin (Kevin); brother, DeEarnest Rice, Jr. (Cynthia); special friend, Pat Foley; 25 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Service will be held 1 pm Friday, August 11, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Pastor Kendall Washington officiating. Visitation 10 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm.
