Joseph Lamar Johnson

JOHNSON, Joseph Lamar, age 34, born November 16, 1983 in Dayton, Ohio, departed this life peacefully early Saturday morning, July 21, 2018. Joseph graduated from Central State University. From there, he became a school teacher with the Dayton Public Schools and later, became an over the road truck driver. Joseph played football and basketball in his school years. He was a great family man, a leader not a follower. He is survived by his children, Kamarya Johnson and Joe Johnson Jr.; father, Kim Sumerlin; mother, Irmagene Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Timothy Newkirk officiating. Visitation 10 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
