Jacqueline Sanders

SANDERS, Jacqueline, better known as “Jackie” to friends and family, born December 9, 1943 in Canton, Mississippi to the late Tosone L. and Eunice Harbin, passed away suddenly December 5, 2017. She was the eldest of six children. At one time an aspiring singer, she had a powerful voice and an incredible talent. She loved to read, enjoyed movies and writing poetry. She was married twice; first, to Richard L. Spears Sr., and later to Earnest Sanders. Although she and Earnest eventually divorced, their friendship actually became deeper and stronger. She loved the family that she married into and always remained loyal to them. She touched many lives and was touched by them as well.

Preceded in death by her special friend and former husband, Earnest Sanders; mother-in-law, Ada Sanders; sisters-in-law, Florence and Dora Sanders, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Sanders.

She is survived by her stepmother, Gloria Harbin; sisters, Dianna (Ron) Harbin of San Francisco, CA, Denise Walker of Las Vegas, NV, and Jasmine (James) Patterson of Seattle, WA; brothers, Ronald Harbin of Federal Way, WA, Tosone Harbin Jr. of Houston, TX; sons, Richard L. Jr. (Jody) Spears of Troy, OH, and Kirk Bradley Sears of Dayton; grandsons, Jermaine C. Preston and George C. Harding, both of Dayton; granddaughter, Felicia N. Spears of Savannah, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service but there will be a vigil Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Rockhill Baptist Church. Details can be obtained by contacting the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund under the name of Jackie Sanders which will be set up at the Wright-Patt Credit Union.
