Howard P. Hallman, 89, was born May 1, 1930 in Alexandria, Louisiana. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Military. Later in life, he became a brick mason by trade. He met his wife, Louise and married her in 1961. They shared a long and wonderful life together. He loved listening to the blues, watching westerns and playing cards. Howard is remembered as being a loving husband, father, provider and protector.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Polly Hallman; his wife, Louise Hallman; four siblings, John Henry, E.W., Earnest and Mildred Hallman.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Michael Hallman, Carolyn Hallman and Demetrius (Princie) Fuqua; brother, Lester Hallman; sisters, Jessie Mae Lindsey, Vera Nembhard, and Audrey Guter; grandchildren, Asia Fuqua, Julian Fuqua, Rashonda Hallman and Kaiesha Hallman; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; devoted neighbor, Kevin Taylor, as well as a host of many beloved relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, September 20, 2019 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 10 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm. Interment 10:15 am Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St.
