Herbert Joseph Rankin, Sr.

Herbert Joseph Rankin Sr., 85, reunited with his heavenly father peacefully, from this life’s journey on Thursday, July 6 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Claude and Olivia Rankin; loving son, Dana Rankin; siblings, Julia Rankin, Wilber Rankin, and James Travis. Left to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 61 years, Celestine Rankin; sons, Herbert Jr. (Mary), Dexter (Andre), and Derrick (Brandi); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held 11:30 am Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2262 N. Gettysburg Ave. Pastor Renard Allen Jr. officiating. Visitation 9 am Thursday at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
