Helaine Denise Brown, born October 31, 1962 in Mansfield, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Friday, August 16, 2019 at Kettering Hospital in Kettering, Ohio. Being a year old when she moved to Dayton, Ohio, Helaine was a longtime resident of Dayton for about 55 years. She was a graduate of Colonel White High School, Class of 1981.
Helaine enjoyed being a home healthcare aide for a company called Caring Hands. She really loved and cherished her patients. Just like her dad, she was involved with many churches, and was very outgoing concerning the church. She never met any strangers and would lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She always liked fun events such as the Black Cultural Festival, Jazz in the Park, and gospel events at the Fraze Pavillion. Helaine loved gospel music, and one of her favorite artists was Rance Allen.
She is preceded in death by her father, Lee Vern Brown (Dayton); grandmother, Tilda McGee (Cleveland, MS); aunt, Sadie Foster (Los Angeles, CA). She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Esther Jean Brown; sisters, Brenda Diane Anderson, Debra Renee Johnson and Sheila Kay Brown, all of Dayton; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, close family members, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, August 26, 2019 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9 am until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
