CABRAL, Gary Dean, age 63, born September 28, 1955, departed this life unexpectedly April 17, 2019. He graduated from Colonel White High School, Class of 1973. Gary served in the United States Navy on the USS John S. McCain Destroyer DDG 36. He recently retired from Meijer Distribution Center and was a dedicated Wright-Patterson Air Force Base employee in prior years.
Gary was affectionately known as “Dash” and “Big Dog”. He was a loving, caring and compassionate person and was liked by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed listening to music and was a big sports enthusiast, with the Dallas Cowboys being his favorite team.
Preceded in death by his father, Augustine Cabral Jr.; grandmother, Nancy Melvin; stepfather, LaFermont Sealey; brothers, Augustine Cabral III and Darryl Lee Cabral. Gary leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Nada Schumpert; stepfather, Eugene Schumpert Jr.; sons, Kevin De’Jaune Smith, Garren Cabral and Branton Hamilton; sisters, Augustina Cabral and Kenya Schumpert; brothers, Darrell (Cindy) Sutton and Eugene (Gloria) Schumpert III; stepsisters, Angie Heard and Yvette (Fred) Clement; stepbrothers, LaFermont Jr. (Judy) Sealey and Rolondo Sealey; special cousin, Diana Richey; special friends, Andra West, Ivy Young, Dion Slocum, Mark wells and Odell Patrick; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11:30 am Friday, April 26, 2019 at Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church, 1501 W. Third St. Visitation 9 am at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
