Ella L. House

HOUSE, Ella Louise “Cookie”, 65, born February 15, 1954 in Fresno, California, passed away June 20, 2019 at Life Care Hospital of Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Fresno High School in 1972. On March 4, 1972, she married the love of her life, Joe Dean “Junebug” House Jr. in Fresno, California. Ella was a long-time resident of Dayton, where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Fresno at the age of 21. A kind and caring woman, Ella dedicated her life to her family and friends. She loved to fish, crochet, and sew.

Preceded in death by her father, Robert Mikel; brother, Curtis Mikel and sister, Paulette Mikel.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joe House Jr.; mother, Onita Mikel of California; daughters, Terese (Ira) Compton of Ohio, Zuri (Cornell) Allen of California, and Jamila (Robert) Hoyle of Ohio; son, Joe III (Aja) House of Arizona; grandchildren: Joelisha House, Timothy Fradue, Jordan House, Jonsha Wesley, Joe House IV, Miella Haggard, Tea Haggard, Shanay Judkins, Jah Horton Jr., Cazana House, Patricia Horton, Robert McGhee Jr., Jocelyn House, Jasmine House, Zacoria Green, Sincere Horton, Zakira Green, Zuriel Horton, Cornell Green, Laila Hoyle, Robert Hoyle III; brothers, Robert Mikel, Fredrick Mikel, Dion Mikel, all of California; sister, Lovella Mikel of California; 13 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, several cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, June 28, 2019 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Brother Raymond Banks officiating. Visitation 9 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment 10:15 am Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Dayton National Cemetery.
