Elizabeth Gray

Elizabeth Gray, 96, died Sunday, Oct 22, 2017. She was one of seven children born to Dave and Willie Lou Andrews in Newnan, Georgia. She was a resident of Dayton most of her life—educated in the Dayton Public Schools and a graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1940. She was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church and retired from the Dayton VA Medical Center after many years of service. Elizabeth was known to all as “Lizzy”.  Preceded in death by her parents, Dave Andrews and Willie Lou Andrews Jackson, one sister, Flora Dickerson, and four brothers, Bobby, Leonard, Howard and Bennie Andrews. Survivors: a loving & devoted son, Vincent Gray; one beloved sister, Annie M. Reeder; a devoted niece, Vernetta Foster and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Service will be held 11 am Friday, October 27, 2017 at Corinthian Baptist Church, 700 South James H. McGee Blvd. Visitation 9 am Friday at the church until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
