PATTERSON, Deacon Edward “The Count”, born December 20, 1941 in Newnan, GA to the late John and Alice Patterson, went home to the Lord August 11, 2019. He was employed with the B & O Railroad as a supervisor, and was the owner of Eddie’s Lawn Services for many years. He was ordained as a Deacon with Townview Baptist Church under Pastor John Gunter. He became a member of Mt. Zion AOH Church under the late Bishop John H. Mathews, Jr., and served under his current Pastor Elder Darius Stanley.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Lewis, Jon Lee, James, Rufus, and Raymond Patterson; sisters, Alma, Eva May, Betty and Edell Patterson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Elder Sharon Brice Patterson; daughters, Cynthia Swope, Katrina Cottrel; sons, Deron B. Bell Sr., Mark E. Walker, Kevin Patterson; Goddaughter, Jacqueline Gamblin; grandchildren, Aaron and Ashlee Swope, Thinatha and Jordan Cottrell; special nephews, Charles (Hildred) Patterson, James (Christine) Brown; nieces, Sandra, Barbara Jean, Tyra, Rudie Mae, Mary, Lucille, Junie, Rose, Charline and Pam, all of Newnan, GA, Prophetess Roberta (Evangelist William) Witt; best friends, Mr. & Mrs. Henry (Theresa) Moorer and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor; special aide, Shawn Mathews; special friend, Snowball; nurses, Sarah, Julie, Tracy and Gina of the Kettering Network; neighbors, Eddie and John Sutton, Grace Hospice, Chaplain Steven Fox, nurse Tamara; the Mt. Zion AOH Church family and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, August 16, 2019 at Mt. Zion AOH Church, 12 College Street. Pastor Darius Stanley officiating. Visitation 9 am at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
