BANKS, Debra Darlene Whitfield, age 57, of Dayton, Ohio, born July 10, 1961 in Welch, West Virginia to the late James Sr. and Dorothy Whitfield Banks, transitioned from this life to be with the Lord Sunday, July 22, 2018. She attended Wilbur Wright High School and received a two-year welding certificate from Job Corps. She worked as a Manager 15+ years for Rally’s. Debra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She also attended service at Greater Love Baptist Church.
Debra was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was loyal and sacrificed all to ensure that her children had what they needed. She was selfless and became a mother to other children as well. Debra was compassionate, caring, very laid back and loved to laugh. She enjoyed staying at home with family, playing bingo and solving word games and puzzles.
Preceded in death by her grandson, James Banks, Jr.; sister, Rhonda Banks; cousin, Anthony Wilson.
Debra leaves to cherish precious memories and celebrate her life: daughters, Angela and Cheyanne Banks, Kendra McGhee; sons, Corvelle Moon, James Banks, Sr. and Tyrell Banks; grandchildren, Corvelle, Lacia, Nacia, Sylvester, Bileyka, Ja’Vell, Kenneth Jr., My’Laine, De’Andre, Ahjeaunna, Jayques, Jaymeirz and Jayariez; sister, Cheryl Eziako; brother, James Banks; special children, Alexis, Angie, Eerica and La’Erika; special nieces, Katana, Khalia and Nikita; special nephews, Jovan, Micah, Cory, Jermaine and Jason; a host of cousins, other family and friends.
Visitation will be held 9:00-11:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Final disposition cremation.
