WRIGHT, Cleon Marjorie (Davenport) was born April 17, 1934 in Williamson, West Virginia to the late Nebuchadnezzar Sr. and Vera Shell Davenport. She peacefully and lovingly went home to glory to be with God on July 31, 2019. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ennis Wright Sr.; siblings, Nebuchadnezzar Jr. and Cornelius Davenport; grandchild, Coleman Wright. Cleon was an avid clarinet player, and performed in the Simmons High School Band, where she graduated in 1951. Cleon and Ennis were blessed with two daughters, Cheryl and Debra Wright of Dayton, Ohio, three sons, Ennis Jr. of Oakwood, Georgia, Terence (Danyelle) of Dayton, Ohio and Keith Wright of Alexandria, Virginia; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Freda Brooks; a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Cleon worked as a Home Health Aide Caregiver for Enriched Living and Season Independence, where she was a Departmental Instructor for 25 years. Cleon professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, and served as both Recording Secretary and Teacher of Sunday School Adult Classes and Bible Classes. She was a member of Circle III, and worked with the Vacation Bible School. Prior to becoming a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, she was a member of Mount Enon Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School Classes. Cleon was a member of the Eastern Star Unity Chapter Number 95, for 50 years. She enjoyed various hobbies such as ceramics, cooking, baking and gardening with her roses, impatiens and magnolia trees. Cleon’s advice to all who knew her, “When we lift our hands up to God in Prayer, Blessings come down.” She lived a joyful and fulfilling life, enjoying her family and friends. Her warm smile and love for all will always be in everyone’s memory. As we honor our Mother today, we acknowledge that she was affectionately known as the matriarch who was deeply family- oriented. Her foundation helped to shape our faith, love and our belief in God. Mom, we thank you. Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, August 5, 2019 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3211 Lakeview Ave, Dayton, OH. Visitation one hour prior to service at which time family will receive friends. Interment West Memory Gardens.
