WALKER, Callie Mae Osby, born February 22, 1926 in Dyersburgh, Tennessee, the only child of Elton Osby and Luvender Wilson, received her wings on July 23, 2018. A resident of Dayton since 1944, she attended Dunbar High School, Honey’s Beauty School and Bernice Shepherd’s Beauty School. Employed by the Engineers Club for 25 years, she also worked in the Dayton Public Schools for 16 years. She was owner of A&W Beauty Salon for more than 25 years. She was most active in her second home, Zion Baptist Church, for more than 65 years. Her passion was the usher board and the kitchen, which was named in her honor for her devoted service. Past President of the City of Dayton Ushers Union, she was active with the State and National Ushers. Callie Mae met her husband, the late Mark Walker of Cincinnati, Ohio at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Through this union five beautiful children were born: Barbara Ann Ward, Deborale (Renee) Richardson, Fatima Diane Allen (deceased), Mark Walker, and Hiram Kirk Walker; She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Visitation 4-7 pm Friday, July 27, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Family will receive friends 5-7 pm. Funeral service will be held 9 am Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Zion Baptist Church, 1684 Earlham Drive. Rev. Rock Carter officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
