JoAnna S. Evans

JoAnna Sheree Evans, age 42, of Dayton, OH, departed this life Saturday, April 13, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. 

JoAnna was a graduate of Miamisburg High School Class of 2000. She received a BA Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Dayton, a master's degree in criminal justice, and a master's degree in education from the university of Phoenix. She gave her life to Christ at an early age, and she was a charter member of Omega Baptist Church.

Joanna is preceded in death by her father, Bruce Nesby; grandfather, Ernest Evans; great-grandmother, Lula Halfacre; aunt, Mattie Horton; cousins, Thomas Moore, Robert Hayden, Andre Evans, Jasmine McKinney, and JaCoreyaa Nichols.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving son, Jerome Douglas Montgomery lll (aka Tre); her loving mother, Jo Ann Evans Nesby; and brother, Evon Evans; loving grandmother, Tommie Horton, and a best friend, Dee Terrie; two aunts, Claudia Simpson (a special aunt)(Fred) and Jackie Evans; three uncles, Thomas Horton (Rita), Bernie Horton, and a devoted uncle, Ernest Evans; special cousins, Thomas N. Horton and Evelynn Simpson; two nephews, Britten Evans, Gabriel Evans; great aunt, Phyllis Halfacre; great uncle, James Halfacre; other cousins, Michael Horton, Michelle Horton, Adraine Davis (Eddie), Daryl Evans, David Milner, Thomas D. Horton, Tiffani Perkins (Chris), Tianna Hawkins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service 11am Friday, April 19, 2024, at Omega Baptist Church, 1821 Emerson Avenue Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am-11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
