Gregory LaVirgil Frost

Deacon Gregory L. Frost, age 64, born February 20, 1960, to the late Robert Evans, and Cloria (Robert) Lewis. 

We lovingly called him simply “Greg” or “Pappy.” Gregory, a good, wonderful, and special child, endured a lot as a child. He was a happy child and always kept a smile. He was always thinking of ways to make you laugh. Greg was only given a lifespan of 7 years, But God!  At age 6, Brother Stanley Henry at WDAO and Rev. Bosie Milinar, who was a sponsor at the time, would allow Greg to pray for us all and the city every Sunday morning. This went on for a long time, until Brother Stanley Retired.

At age 7, Gregory accepted Christ and was baptized under the tutelage of Pastor T.D. Moragne. He is presently and forever shall be a member of the Emmanuel M.B. Church West- Pastor Reginald Frey.

Greg "Pappy" was loved by everyone and had a wonderful singing voice. And yes, he could SING! He rendered his heavenly gift with groups such as The Zion Trumpeteers, The Clefs of Faith, and how could we ever forget The Royal Harmonizers, and many more. 

Deacon Gregory L. Frost is preceded in death by his father, Robert Evans; mother, Cloria (Robert) Lewis; sister, Toni Frost- Shaw; and brother, Ronald D. Frost Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Potia Rainey-Frost and 4 grandchildren (all of Atlanta, GA), sisters, Pamela Brewer, Kathy Williams, Evangelist Cynthia E. Davis; Arnetta; Minister Regina (Jimmy) Lewis Martin, Evangelist Ceitha Lewis-Frost; Mother Angela Jackson; Jeannie Green-Bush, Shannon Frost, and Minister DeLisa Green of Colorado Springs, CO.

Brothers, Mr. Thomas Payne, Rev. Henry Frost Sr of Ypsilanti Michigan, Kimberly Green, Harold Green, and Robert V. Frost.

We the family would like to give thanks and gratitude to Mercy Sienna for their services for Gregory. Pastor & Lady Frey of the Emmanuel M.B. Church West, for your love and held during this season of our life. To Bishop & Apostle Young, for all you did for Greg. Last but not least, Mr. Wayne, Dorothy, Tony, Stacey, and The House of Wheat family, for your care and services you have given to our family.

Celebration of Life to be held 12 pm Monday, April 29, 2024, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am-12 pm. Family to receive friends 11 am- 12 pm. Pastor Reginald Frey officiating.
