Shellie B. (Butler) Jordan

On Thursday, July 27, 2017 our precious and beloved Shellie B. Jordan was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Shellie was born February 23, 1927 to the late David and Carrie Gresham. She accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated her life to Christ in the year 2000. Shellie was a faithful member and servant of Greater Harvest Apostolic Pentecostal Church. She received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and awards for volunteer service as a senior companion due to her dedication as a volunteer for many years. Preceded in death by her former husband, Ferdinand Flud Butler and late husband, Charles Wilson Jordan, along with seven sisters and four brothers; former in-laws, Ferdinand Flud (Anna L. Frances) Butler; sister-in-law, Louise Butler; brothers-in-law, James and Ed Butler; grandchild, Jimi Lee Pegues III; niece, Valerie Adams Daniel; nephew, Phillip Anthony Lumpkin; grand son-in-law, Darnel D. McCoy; beloved brother-in-law, Harold R. Lumpkin. Shellie leaves to treasure her memories her daughter, Freida (Aaron) Booker; son, Frederick Lamar (Beverly) Butler; sisters-in-law, Vivian Fletcher, Mary Hughes and Sarah Butler; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; special nieces, Velma, Zellene, Joyce; nephews, Edwin, Emanuel and Bruce Butler; a host of family, friends, and church family who will miss her dearly. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Pastor Jerry Wilson officiating. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery. Visitation 10 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
