BOOKER, Ruth Mae, born July 24, 1920 to the late Thomas Turentine and Ruth Ann Pillar, the 2nd eldest of six girls and loving sister to six brothers, departed this life January 18, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She attended Center Star School, Columbia, TN. She received Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Airy Church, Columbia, TN. She was untied in holy matrimony to the late Henry Garfield Allen and out of that union she had a daughter. She later married the late Russell Booker Jr. and they relocated to Dayton. She worked at McCalls Book Factory and retired from Donenfelds Clothing Store. She was a longtime member of Shiloh M. B. Church where she served on the Usher Board, and later joined in 1987 Rock Hill M. B. Church under Rev. LeVon Mann and was a faithful member serving in the congregation until her illness. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Dorothy Allen-Booker Pardue; sister, Ida Browning; 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 24 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Rock Hill M. B. Church, 1404 S. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9-11 am. Family will receive friends 10-11 am. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
