DILLARD, Lillian, age 74, passed away peacefully Friday, September 8, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born November 30, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Charles and Doris (Reeder) Dewberry. Lillian was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness for over 60 years and within that time she made many friends and acquaintances.
Lillian was a wonderful cook and loved entertaining family and friends; all of whom have fond memories of good food and fun times at her Brookside home. Also known as Mrs. Middleton, she touched the lives of many children for over 30 years as a school bus driver for the Miami Valley School and in the latter years for Northmont City School District.
Preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Phelps, Charles Allen, Roland and Darrell Dewberry; special niece, Tanji Dewberry; great nephew, Evan Soler; husbands, Robert B. Middleton Sr., Walter E. Dillard Sr. She leaves as a legacy to carry on her memory: son, Rodney (Tina) Middleton; daughter, Angela “Cissy” (Harold) Stollings; sisters, Betty “BG” Garrett, Sharon (Ronald) Lucious; brothers, Ronald (Willie D.), David and Mark (April) Dewberry; grandchildren, Devon (Maria), Ylena and Tiara Middleton, Dominique Stollings; special great grandson, Mateo Hernandez; special cousin, Barbara (Howard) Harris; lifelong friend, Lena King; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a host of longtime friends from the Kingdom Hall.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Lillian touched are invited to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., 12 noon Saturday, September 16, 2017 for Memorial service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Final disposition cremation.
