Kevin Lavelle Reid

REID, KEVIN LAVELLE, with great sadness the family of Kevin Lavelle Reid announce his untimely passing. Kevin Lavelle Reid was born October 28, 1965 in Dayton, Ohio and surrendered his battle to cancer September 27, 2017. Kevin attended Belmont High School, later, earning his G.E.D. His profession was in sales and his hobbies included spending as much time as possible with his two children; his five beautiful and beloved grandchildren; other family members; and his lifelong friend, caregiver, and partner, Vonda Lovett. Kevin also received joy from visiting Rock’s Barbershop where plenty of good times, memories, and laughs could be enjoyed with friends. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and his volunteer work included working at the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals games. Preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Edna Reid; his brother, Michael Lewis, and son, Jarrell Reid, and a grandson, Kayion Reid. Kevin is survived by his son, DeAngelo Reid and daughter, Khalia Reid; his siblings, Rock Reid, Yhanteg Marzette, Punkin Haygood, Dale Jones, Jr., Erika Jones, Raith Poole, Larry Reid, Jr., Dawn Phillips, April Reid, Cynthia Reid; a host of grandchildren, other family, and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9 am until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Royal Oaks Cemetery, 7217 National Road, Brookville, Ohio. The family would like to thank everyone for their loving words and support.
