Homer Williams

May 10, 1937 ~ June 7, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years Old


Homer Williams, age of 80, born May 10, 1937 in Hazard, Kentucky, died peacefully June 7, 2017 at Kindred Hospital, after an extended illness. He graduated from Carr Creek High School in 1957 and joined the U. S. Air Force that same month. Later, he was stationed in Germany where he met his beloved Renate.  He married his "schätzelein” and returned to the United States with his family, where he was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX. During his career he was awarded Air Force Medals for Conduct and Longevity in Service. In 1974, after 20 years of service, he retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant, moved to Dayton and began a 20 year career at GM/Delco. Preceded in death by his wife, Renate; parents, Oma and Carlos Williams; sister, Marqzetta Adams Barfield; brothers, Phillip Adams and Frederick Lee Williams.  Homer is survived by his children, Carmen Williams, Stephanie Patterson, Ronald Williams (Kelly) and Carlos Williams; siblings, Maxine Taylor, Frederick Williams (Carolyn), Rodney Williams (Viola), Lisa Williams (Clarren C Williams Jr.); grandchildren, Natasha Howard (Endrico), Wesley Batts, Cameron Batts, Ronald Brandon Williams Jr., Alont'e L. Williams, Rachael R. Williams, Ashley J. M. Fleming, Antony D. Sanders, Robert J. Fleming, Tiona E. Sanders, Nicole Young, Courtney Young, Carlos “CJ” Williams and Danta Williams; great grandchildren, Falen Howard, Zuri M. Sanders, Ja’Khiri O. Thompson, Shania D. Fleming,  Robert J. Fleming, Jr., Gary L Hill, Jr. and Jaela J. Williams; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, June 16, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Elder Cornelius Hagans officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Friday at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
