Ernest Murphy Jr.

MURPHY, Jr., Ernest, entered this world April 2, 1927 in Springfield, Ohio. On the morning of March 14, 2017, at the age of 89, he was called home by God from his earthly life’s work. After serving a tour of duty with United States Air Force and employment with the U. S. government, Ernest moved to Dayton to implement the dream of owning his own business. The result of his hard work and persistence was Murphy’s TV Sales and Service which provided service to the Dayton area for many years. Ernest Murphy, Jr. was preceded in death by Ernest Murphy, Sr. (father), Rosa Thomas Murphy (mother), three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by Sarah Clemens Murphy (wife); Jacquelyn Murphy Carr and Gisele Murphy Terrell (daughters); Michael Minkner (stepson); Nathaniel (Jane) Murphy (brother); Nina Woods (sister); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, March 20, 2017 at New Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Catalpa Drive. Visitation 9 am Monday at the church until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Committal 1 pm at the Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N.
