Dexter Lenard Blue

BLUE, Dexter Lenard, departed this life unexpectedly Sunday, April 16, 2017. He was born May 2, 1965 in Bladen County, North Carolina. Dexter was a graduate of Colonel White High School, Class of 1984 and was employed by Wolverine Worldwide for several years. Dexter accepted Christ at a young age and joined Macedonia Missionary Bapitst Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus. He later joined New Era Baptist Church in Middletown, Ohio. Dexter loved the Lord and was a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and a friend to all. He had a kind heart and loving spirit. He was a selfless person, who was always willing to help others in need and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dexter leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tara Allen Blue; parents, Rossie L. and Tabitha Lewis Blue; children, Danyell Blue, and Chandler Duane Johnson; three stepchildren; grandchildren, Donavan Blue-Glover and Aurora Holloday Johnson; sister, Charmayne (Craig) Marvin; uncle, Darryl (Gwen) Lewis, Whiteville, NC; aunts, Barbara (Gilbert) Peacock, Charlotte, NC, Ruth Blondell (Herbert) Hester, Whiteville, NC, Gloria Blue, Dayton, and Katrina (Raymond) Robinson, Dayton; special cousins, Sharonna Sinclair, Middletown, OH, Miriam Bowen, Whiteville, NC and Sarita Bowen, Whiteville, NC; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, April 24, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Dr. Jamey L. Colts, Sr., eulogist. Visitation 9 am Monday at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
