Catherine Cox

Our beloved Catherine Cox, 74, was called to heaven peacefully, December 27, 2017. She was born March 9, 1943 in Eutaw, Alabama to the late Glover and Christine Carpenter. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1963 and retired from Dayton Public Schools in 2006. She was a faithful member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoyed ushering and teaching children the Bible. Catherine was a sweetheart, being there for all her family and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cox; brother, Joe (Ann) Lewis. She leaves to cherish her life lessons: sons, Gregory (Tiffany) Beal, William (Malinda) Cox, Herman (dee) Bigbee; sisters, Birdie (Booker) Izell, Willa (Charles) Reed; brother, Richard (Carrie) Carpenter; grandchildren, Brandon Bigbee, Courtney Bigbee, Brandon Hood, Gregory Beal II, Myalisa Beal, Nigel Beal, Dominique Camp; great grandchildren, Devon, Braylin, Khristian, Ashton; adopted daughter, Louise Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, January 5, 2018 at Pleasant Green M. B. Church, 5301 Olive Rd. Visitation 10 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm. Entombment West Memory Gardens.
