Betty Jean Banks

BANKS, Betty Jean, age 89, a lifelong resident of Dayton, born April 13, 1928 to the late John and Mattie Pullen, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017. She attended Dunbar High School where she met and later married, Willie Joe Banks, who preceded her in death, and to their union were born two sons.  Betty accepted Christ earlier on in her life.  Her lifelong passion was caring and raising foster children.

All who knew her, will always remember that in her leisure time you could always find her playing bingo!

Preceded in death by her son, Joseph W. Banks. Survivors include her brother, Haywood Pullen; son, Gregory Allen Banks; daughters-in-law, Eileen Banks, Diane Banks and Shellie Banks; grandchildren, Eric Banks, Toni Richie, Nikette Banks, Gregory Allen Banks Jr., Kyle Banks, Kenyon Siler, Ean Moody, Tawanna White, Kendra Bozeman, Kenyatta Bozeman and Kelly Bozeman; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Dr. Jerome P. Stevenson officiating. Visitation 9 am Saturday at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Greencastle Cemetery.
